| "Aadhar" The Foundation started in 1985 and formally registered in 1987, is a Society registered under Rule 21 of the Society Registration Act of 1860. It is being managed with the expertise of the Professionals – Scientists, Social Scientists, Technologists, Activists from the fields of Management, Science, Social Science, Law, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Astrology, Shoe and Carpet Designing and Manufacturing. This is a platform of people with strong grit and determination to spread scientific temper in the society; to develop and upgrade the skills of artisans and the youths with appropriate science and technological inputs; and to ‘Interact’ “NOT HELP� the artisans, youths, craftsmen in ameliorating such problems that need professional intervention. Aadhar has a mix of imagination, tradition, modernity and technology. Most NGOs including the big ones of national stature depend on government grants-in-aid, individual charities, foreign funds, etc. Our efforts get distinguished from others because Aadhar from the very beginning worked on self-sufficiency principle. It does not mean that we do not lean on government grants and funds. We also generate our own resources to meet part of our infrastructure without impinging upon the interests of the beneficiaries. The NGOs are these days expected to implement self-sustaining programmes for others where NGO is only a facilitator. It is thus imperative for the NGOs to have sufficient experience in this field. All the centres and subsidiaries of Aadhar are self-sustaining and we seek funds for only new development projects and programmes |
