To collect and disseminate information to members relating to various legislation and taxes levied by the Central and State Govts.

To represent to civic and local authorities about the shortcomings in the eminities provided for the public in general.

To take up with airlines , Railways and Road Transport authoritiesthe problems of trade and industry in particular and public in general.

To represent the State and Central Govts.,matters conmnected with Direct and Indirect Taxes

To represent to the govt. matters related to Import-export policies , foreign exchange and internal monetary policies of RBI.

To provide members with internet facility through chamber''''s homepage to popularise and market their products in the global market.

To conduct seminars on various topics of interest to trade and Industry.

To organise Trade delegations for Joint Ventures abd Promotion of Exports.

To maintain a library with reference books and Trade directories containing vital information required by members.

The chamber has been authorised to issue certificate of origin for goods exported.

A private employment exchange is maintained by the chamber where unemployed persons in various fields can register and the list of such candidates is provided to NMem,bers to fill up their vacancies.


Achievments
The major projects for which the Chamber took initiative and efforts in promoting public welfare are enumerated below :

1. Laying of Irugur / Coimbatore Rail Link.
2. Running of West Coast Express and Jayanthi Janatha Express via Coimbatore.
3. Construction of over bridge on the Avanashi Road.
4. Introduction of Kovai , Cheran Express and Shadapthy superfast trains between Madras and Coimbatore.
5. Day Express between Coimbatore and Madurai.
6. Conversion of coimbatore Junction as a model station in Southern Railway.
7. Location of Steel Authority of India (then HSL) StockYard at Peelamedu.
8. Upgradation of All India Radio and installation of TV Relay Station.
9. Location of Coimbatore Market Committee.
10. Setting up of Inland Container Depot at Coimbatore.
11. Upgradation of Coimbatore Telecom District and location of a new telephone Exchange at Saibaba Colony with 10,000 lines capacity.
12. The Chamber has also achieved the unique distinction of having the First Business Service Bureau in Tamil Nadu in collaboration with the Telecommunications Department providing FAX facilities , Telex P.C.O., Public Trunk Call Services for the benefit of trade and industry.
Opening of an office of the Registers of companies at Coimbatore.
13. Opening of the office of the Dy. Chief Controller of Imports and Exports.
14. Opening of the office of Export Credit Guarantee Corp.
15. Opening of a branch of the Unit Trust of India, IDBI and SIDBI at Coimbatore.
16. Construction of the fly over at North Coimbatore.
17. Establishment of the Coimbatore Stock Exchange Ltd.
18. Remodelling and lengthening of the runway at Peelamedu Airport from 7500 feet to 9000 feet to enable operation of wide-bodied cargo jet aircraft.
19. Establishment of an Air Cargo Complex at Peelamedu Airport to facilitate quick movement of export Cargo.
20. Introduction of International Flight from Coimbatore to Sharjah.
21. An Employment Exchange Division has been set up by the Chamber to render free service to unemployed youth to secure employment in Private Sector undertakings. Diploma holders, Graduates and other highly qualified persons have been requested trough the media suitable to register with EED.
