| Existence of a strong music industry results in nurturing and propagation of a rich musical culture. In order to strengthen the industry, work in several areas is essential. IMI plays an increasingly vital role in the following main activities: 1. Anti-piracy Campaign. To Protect the rights of its members who are the producers of sound recordings. IMI has formed a well structured Anti Piracy teams with presence in all the states of India under the leadership of Mr. J.F. Riberio, Formrt Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, Director General of Police Punjab & Indian Ambassador to Romania 2. Promoting copyright law and its enforcement. IMI conducts seminars/ workshops for Police officers on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) 3. Supporting International Copyright conventions. 4. Promoting new technologies mainly for assisting right owners. 5. IMI''''s Gold / Silver / Platinum Awards. 6. Liasing with the Government in industry matters. 7. Helping public awareness about copyright. |
